In the morning, for a leisurely start

Resto Bar Taraca opens at 8am and remains one of the most pleasant spots for breakfast or a light brunch: avocado toast, decent coffee, a relaxed atmosphere with Wi-Fi available. It’s also the place for those who want to combine a meal with some quiet work, away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the old town.

Address: 556 Tabacina, Kotor

Bonazza, which also opens at 8am, offers a more substantial option for those who prefer a hearty meal first thing in the morning, with a wide selection of coffees and drinks to go with it.

Address: 170 Donji put, Kotor

At lunchtime, for a quick and efficient break

BBQ Tanjga fits the bill perfectly: generous portions, fast service, and reasonable prices ranging from €10 to €20. It’s the most frequently recommended spot for a hearty lunch without spending the whole afternoon there, offering a wide selection of grilled dishes and a salad bar to round it off.

Address: E65, Kotor

La Catedral Pasta Bar is also a great choice at lunchtime, provided you avoid the rush between 12 noon and 1 pm. The seafood or pesto pasta dishes offer a good balance between speed and quality, with a pleasant terrace where you can enjoy your lunch.

Address: Unnamed Road, Kotor

In the afternoon, for a quieter break

Resto Bar Taraca features here too, particularly suited to a lighter meal: falafel, pumpkin soup, or simply a coffee with a dessert, in an atmosphere that remains relaxed even in the middle of the afternoon.

It’s also the perfect time to explore Konoba Scala Santa on Salad Square: less busy than at dinner time, it’s a chance to enjoy the venue’s historic setting without the evening crowds, whilst tucking into a light bite such as fish soup or traditional mussels.

Address: Salad Square, Kotor

In the evening, for a memorable dinner

This is when the most refined restaurants really come into their own.

Bonazza is particularly worth a visit for dinner, with its seafood risotto and fish platter to share, in an atmosphere that becomes more romantic as the evening wears on. Booking is recommended.

Konoba Scala Santa takes on a different atmosphere in the evening: the fireplace is lit, live music occasionally punctuates the evening, and the historic setting really comes into its own. The black risotto with squid ink remains the most talked-about speciality.

For a truly exceptional evening, Moments Restaurant in Dobrota remains the place to go: a rooftop terrace, sophisticated cocktails, an extensive wine list, alongside dishes such as duck breast or fillet mignon. The price naturally exceeds €50, and booking is almost essential.

Address: Dobrota, Kotor

For a lighter dinner or a meal on your own

La Catedral Pasta Bar is still a good option in the evening, provided you’re prepared to wait if the place is full, which is often the case. The homemade tiramisu is well worth trying to round off your meal.
